The Metroview Building
1971; Elizabeth, Charlotte, North Carolina. Odell Architects.
The Metroview Building is a large, modernist, brick building on the edge of Elizabeth and is used for medical offices.
The building hosts a locally (in)famous piece of art: “Man Mold” (also called “Being”) by the late Austin Fox.1
Man Mold has been at the Metroview since 1974 having been commissioned by Dr. Reed Gaskins, a local eye doctor who was a partner in the construction of the Metroview and was a medical missionary through Myers Park Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.2
